Layoff Radar — historical sample
Employers with 100 or more workers must file a WARN notice before a plant closing or mass layoff, and each state publishes those filings its own way. The agency files are workbooks, dashboard exports and PDF lists that nobody reads weekly. The September 8, 2026 sample below lists published notices from the states shown, with employer, location, headcount, dates and source files. It is retained for reference and is not being refreshed on a schedule.

Where the rows come from
- California — the Employment Development Department’s WARN report workbook, “Detailed WARN Report” sheet (edd.ca.gov/en/jobs_and_training/Layoff_Services_WARN/). The workbook says it is updated every Tuesday and Thursday and covers the current reporting period.
- Illinois — the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s monthly WARN workbooks (dceo.illinois.gov/workforcedevelopment/warn.html), the newest two months on every read; supplemental notices (amendments to earlier filings) are marked as such.
- New York — the Department of Labor’s WARN Dashboard data export (dol.ny.gov/warn-dashboard). New York often posts a notice weeks after its notice date; an issue lists a notice the week the agency posts it and prints the notice date beside it.
- Alaska, Alabama, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia — read from each state labour department’s own published WARN list: AK jobs.alaska.gov · AL workforce.alabama.gov · DC does.dc.gov · KY kcc.ky.gov · MA www.mass.gov · MD www.dllr.state.md.us · MO jobs.mo.gov · NE dol.nebraska.gov · NJ www.nj.gov · OR ccwd.hecc.oregon.gov · RI dlt.ri.gov · SD dlr.sd.gov · TN www.tn.gov · TX www.twc.texas.gov · UT jobs.utah.gov · VA virginiaworks.gov · WV workforcewv.org. Each row carries the exact page or file it came from and the date it was read, so any figure can be checked against the state’s own page.
This historical sample used the source layouts measured on 2026-09-03. One row represents a notice or affected site as listed by the agency. It does not establish current source coverage or delivery status. The same rows, as one CSV for download, are the $19 WARN notices dataset; the same reader is public on the Apify Store as retrainmap/warn-notices.
